SteelJournal Privacy Policy
Effective 14 August 2026
SteelJournal is the developer of the SteelJournal workout-tracking app. This policy explains how the app handles personal and health-related information.
Information you enter
SteelJournal can store workouts, exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, training programs, workout notes, body weight, lean muscle mass, body fat, bone density, preferences and related progress calculations. This is health and fitness information that you choose to enter.
Where your data is stored
Your workout, program, body and settings data is stored locally on your device. SteelJournal does not require a SteelJournal account and does not operate an analytics or advertising service that receives this data.
Backups
A backup is created only when you choose Create Backup. You select its destination using Android's file picker. Restoring a backup replaces the SteelJournal data on that device. You control and are responsible for files you export and where you store or share them.
Google Play purchases
Google Play processes subscriptions and supplies SteelJournal with product, purchase and entitlement status needed to unlock Premium. Google handles payment information under its own privacy policy. SteelJournal stores a limited entitlement status and verification time on your device so recently verified access can continue briefly during a connection problem.
How information is used
The app uses your entries to provide workout history, statistics, estimated rep maximums, personal bests, program features, timers, restoration and other functions you request. SteelJournal does not sell personal or health information and does not use it for targeted advertising.
Sharing and disclosure
SteelJournal does not share your workout or body data with third parties from within the app. Android document providers may handle a backup when you deliberately choose a location. Google Play handles billing and subscription status. Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Data remains on the device until you delete entries in SteelJournal, restore a different backup, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Exported backups remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted there separately. SteelJournal has no user account or remote workout database to delete.
Security
SteelJournal uses Android's app storage and blocks cleartext network traffic. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect your device and any exported backup files.
Children
SteelJournal is not directed to children under 13. A minor should use exercise software and undertake training only with appropriate parent, guardian and qualified professional supervision.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when SteelJournal features, practices or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
